In The Witness, seasoned officer Garfield finds himself locked in a tense battle of wills with a seemingly innocent teenager named Eddie during an interrogation. As Garfield grapples with the complexities of authority and morality, the balance of power shifts unexpectedly, leading to a shocking revelation that leaves both characters—and the reader—questioning reality. With mounting suspense and psychological intrigue, "The Witness" delivers a gripping exploration of manipulation and the blurred lines between truth and perception.

Cartoonist and educator CM Campbell in conjunction with Columbus Black International Film Festival, put together a narrative that explores social issues, while still engaging with the critical elements of storytelling and filmmaking.

Beyond this singular project, CBIFF looks to continue to not only push for creative and compelling stories, but also promote marginalized voices within the medium of film. There is a standing moral imperative to continue to create a sense of diversity in this industry. There is also a need for diversity in experience, perspective, and ambitions. With that in mind, CBIFF looks to Inspire growth and experimentation throughout the world of film and storytelling by contributing to the wider conversation.
